Ahmed Arif

As Pakistan Portfolio Manager, Ahmed Arif is responsible for managing and developing the Acumen Fund's investments in Pakistan. Prior to joining Acumen, Ahmed was a senior capital markets banker with BNP Paribas' Corporate & Investment Banking division. Based in New York, London and, for 7 years at the bank's head office in Paris, Ahmed led the negotiation, structuring and syndication of several of Europe's largest and most complex debt financings of private-equity-backed leveraged buy-outs. These included the International Financing Review’s “European Leveraged Loan of the Year, 2005" for the Euro 2.55 billion dividend recapitalisation of Eutelsat S.A. Before becoming an investment banker, Ahmed worked for several years as a journalist in Pakistan, where he was awarded the "Citibank Pan-Asia Financial Journalism Award" for 1995. Ahmed holds a Bachelors degree from Colby College, an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, and is fluent in French.
